Was a fun day at the campground yesterday, summer’s in full swing finally! Besides the pool opening, and the water slide… yesterday was the annual Bayside Campground Olympics. Here’s me and bbf#1 looking industrious and filling up the water ballons for the ballon toss.
The truth of the matter was deb ran the show. I was suppose to help her, but got waylaid right off the onset by my special little boy having a melt down ….  i was held captive by his tears!
She forged bravely on, and fun was had by all. Think it was the fastest olympics in the history of bayside olympics. Sack race, three-legged race, tug of war, egg race, ballon toss all done and medals handed out in 45 minutes!
BBF#1 needed us to stall for a bit more time while he got the hot dogs cooked, so we came up with an egg toss, as somehow none of the eggs bit the dust in the egg race! Not sure what it is about those PEI eggs, they are tough cookies.
Deb kept making people step further and further back to toss the eggs to each other, and there were still 5 or more on the go. People were hurling them across the field to each other.. eggs were bouncing off the ground, and still remained in tact!
Gathering her wits about her, she made the crowd come over to the rock driveway, and finally the remaining eggs broke… note to self, next bayside olympics, get Nova Scotian’ eggs!
The evening’s activity was the highlight. It was the long anticipated, first of what’s to be a weekly event, Bayside Bingo. I’ve heard lots of tales of bayside bingo, but witnessing it first had was a trip.
BBF#1 gets right into it, and each week comes up with a “persona” to facilitate the evening, and give people a great laugh in the process.
I had a pile of disco tunes, so bbf#1 and deb went off to town friday to get a good disco outfit. Given the events of the week, somehow he came back as Michael Jackson, which the crowd at bingo totally loved.
The second big highlight of the day was BBF#2 arrived for a short visit. He endured a 14 hr trip just to see all his favorite people, and he was greeted by all with the proper greeting fit for a best boyfriend!
