It’s either feast or famine around these parts.
For months it’s been just deb deb and i rattling around in this space, then somehow over the span of 4 days… visitors…. VISITORS as in plural! Whooo hooo!
First it was dylan… managed to nab him his first weekend in town. Know he’s going to get busy being a world famous chef and all… so felt i’d seize the opportunity before he started his job search.
He was a sweetie and gave us a day of his time, as in vegging out at the motel so we could run off and play. We’d been wanting to check out Whistler and Pemberton, had heard great things about that area… so off we trundled… free as little birdies.
It was lovely to be sure, the sea to sky highway is a simply spectacular drive on the way up. But at the end of the day as we were driving back to the no-tell-motel, we decided that the area we are in is really actually very amazing…. that felt good.
Then feast part 2… mother’s day. We decided that we’d do another attempt (well attempt for me… just another hike for my deb deb!) at the mountain.
I’d been yacking about this darn mountain climb to dylan… so he was itching to go on it. Convinced it was going to be a piece of cake…. WHATEVER.
After a group shot at the bottom of the trail, they quickly left me in their dust…. WHATEVER!
Cause even in their dust, I ACTUALLY MADE IT!!!! I actually climbed that mother sucker and i actually made it to the top. Phewf, about frigging time is all i can say! It felt great, actually made it up there with energy to spare.
Course made it up there in almost double the time of deb deb and dylan (plus hitched a ride part of the way down)… but we won’t go there will we? Let me coasting coast a little on the fact that i got there.
There isn’t actually the top of Mount Cheam, that’s going to have to wait till the snow melts…. but it’s the second best place. There is this little grassy knoll where the paragliders take off from. We lucked in and there were 4 or 5 of them ready to fly. We watched them until they had all taken off… out of this world.
Going to get up there myself one of these days, that’s for sure.

Then if one visitor wasn’t enough. A friend from ottawa came for a two day visit… phewf, tired now, will have to write about feast or famine part 3 tomorrow.
